Simy’s Studio have taken inspiration from the rich history of the iconic Aran sweater in creating the Moss and Cable Jumper. Heavily textured double moss stitch traditionally represents the carageen moss that grows abundantly across the stone walls and spectacular cliffs of the west coast of Ireland. For self-sufficient fishermen, the rows of cables adorning the sleeves would have symbolised ropes, protection and good fortune, with the expectation of a bountiful catch.

Made with either Scheepjes Chunky Money yarn, it’s easy to entwine a little of your own personality to this attractive knit by choosing from a vast range of shades. This unisex sweater with round neck and comfortable raglan shape makes a practical choice for anyone looking for a cosy sweater that is affordable, easy to care for and suitable for sensitive skin.

Scheepjes Chunky Monkey (100% Premium Acrylic (Anti Pilling); 100g/116m)

• 1435 Magenta x 9 (10: 10: 11: 12) balls

• 5mm and 6mm knitting needles
• Cable needle
• Stitch holders
